Unfortunately, this is still the case nearly 7 years on. Ideally, you already use a password manager, so passwurdit is for people who have to generate passwords on somebody else’s behalf.
Passwurdit makes memorable passwords from a semi-curated list of the most common 10,000 words in English, and gives a small number of options in case a particular system requires those unnecessary things like upper case letters and numbers.
Importantly, the rules you use are encoded in the URL, so different requirements can be shared and remove one person from the chain of people who know somebody else’s password.
For example, here’s a password with 42 characters, capital letters, and slashes, and here’s a password with 18 characters including numbers.
