The Cambridge International Student Film Festival
I’ve been hiding recently, getting a bit behind on the degree while I whittle away at the logo, identity and promotional material for Watersprite 2011. Up there is the poster I’ve been working on, and that will be going up around Cambridge from tomorrow. In later posts I will share the A6 flyer and the 3m x 1m banner that is to be hung in the heart of Cambridge — photos of this will surely arrive here. I’m rather happy I managed to swing the job, thanks to a very kind acquaintance in the know.
The event itself is going to be packed with films to watch, seminars, workshops and talks from some top names. I don’t think many can shake their head at Bill Nighy, Kevin Macdonald, Tim Bevan and Tom Hollander; all coming along to talk, discuss, or present awards.
I won’t go in to all the details, I suggest you follow this link to Watersprite.org, where you can find out for yourself what’s going on and register for all the events occurring over the 11th–13th of March. You may also follow Watersprite on Twitter and of course, like Watersprite on Facebook
One particularly exciting thing about this job was getting the top sponsor logos. As a designer of logos, I get a little excited when I’m sent things like the Youtube™ and BAFTA branding guidelines. If I’m a collector of anything, it is these I am most fond of. In a really geeky way.
Hm… I’m not going to evaluate my own work but I do wish there had been more time to tidy up on this. What do ye think?
